LIAISE is a unique two-year collaborative partnership that brings together supporters, football associations, football leagues and stakeholders including Uefa and the EU Think Tank of Football Safety and Security Experts for the first time.
Outputs & Outcomes
LIAISE kicked off in January 2018 and will run for two years until December 2019. A number of activities and events have already been held and for more information on all the activities planned as part of the project, see Project Background.
Launch meeting: Prague
The project’s opening meeting was hosted by the LFA in March 2018 and saw the LIAISE partners come together as a group for the first time.
Training workshop on supporter liaison: Stockholm
SEF organised the first training workshop, closely co-ordinating with the SD Europe team to present three days of information and practical insight in Supporter Liaison.
Exchange visit 1: Czech Football League(LFA) to Bulgarian Football Union
The first exchange visit of the project took place in Sofia around the Bulgarian Cup final in May, with the LFA travelling to spend time with their BFU counterparts.
Exchange visit 2: French National Supporters Association(ANS), French Football Federation, Bulgarian Football Union, Czech Football League(LFA), and Football Supporters Europe to Polish Football Association(PZPN)
The visit was hosted by the Polish Football Association (PZPN) and saw representatives of the French National Supporters Association (ANS), the French Football Federation (FFF), the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU), the Czech Football League (LFA) and Football Supporters Europe (FSE) travel to the northeast city of Białystok.
Exchange visit 3: Svenska Fotbollssupporterunionen, French National Supporters Association(ANS), Football Supporters Europe, Czech Football League(LFA), Polish Football Association(PZPN), Federación Portuguesa de Fútbol(FPF), Svensk Elitfotbol(SEF), LFP, Italian FA(FIGC), and Football Union of Russia(RFU) to Bulgarian Football Union
Participants from ten countries and organisations came together to discuss the new Council of Europe Convention on an Integrated Safety Security and Service Approach.
Exchange visit 4: Project Partners to Svensk Elitfotbol(SEF)
Representatives from the Erasmus+ project’s 10 partners and 11 additional organisations (from 12 countries) were involved in activities over a three-day training event in Stockholm, hosted by Svensk Elitfotbol (SEF).
Exchange visit 5: Bulgarian Football Union to Czech Football League(LFA)
The visit was hosted by the Ligová Fotbalová Asociace (Czech Football League) and saw representatives of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) and the European Think Tank of Football Safety and Security Experts plus the SLO of Polish Ekstraklasa outfit Jagiellonia Białystok travel to the city of Olomouc
Exchange visit 6: Polish Football Association(PZPN) to Bulgarian Football Union
The exchange visit’s main focus was to showcase the work of local supporter liaison officers with an insight into the matchday operations and an in-depth look at the work surrounding the organisation of the Bulgarian Super Cup game between Ludogorets and Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
The project aims for a Liaison-based Integrated Approach to Improving Supporter Engagement. Activities focus on the development of the supporter liaison officer (SLO) role through a better understanding, awareness and implementation of established good practices, and will be coordinated by SD Europe.
