In what is positive news from Spain, a delegation from FASFE – the Spanish national supporters organisation – met with Sports Minister and president of the Higher Sports Council, José Ramón Lete, on June 20th to put forward proposals for the country’s planned new sports law.

The delegation consisted of FASFE members from across the country, led by their president José Ángel Zalba.

The 2017 Supporters Direct / Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) supporters summit took place at St. George’s Park, near Burton upon Trent last weekend (July 1st/2nd).

Fan-owned clubs and supporters trusts from across England, Wales, Scotland and further afield gathered at the home of English football for a day of discussion, followed by the respective AGMs of Supporters Direct and FSF.

On May 24th, this year’s Europa League final was played in Stockholm between AFC Ajax and Manchester United.

In total six SLOs from the three Stockholm clubs (AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby) were on duty in order to advise colleagues from the two finalists as well as visiting fans. The focus for the SLO support team was on service, logistics and providing local knowledge.

The home of one of the biggest members-run clubs in the Bundesliga, FC Schalke 04, hosted our ‘Clubs and Supporters for Better Governance in Football’ project’s third workshop recently (June 16 – 18).

Participants from 18 different countries and 38 organisations were present in Gelsenkirchen, and heard a variety of presentations, discussions and contributions from across Europe, the US and Africa. At their match at home against Shamrock Rovers last Friday (26th), Cork City FC highlighted the YourMentalHealth.ie #LittleThings campaign.

Part of their involvement included distributing as many Green Ribbons amongst supporters as possible. Wearing the Green Ribbon is meant to help spark a conversation about mental health, and it could encourage others to reach out, feel less alone, and to seek support.

Among the some 60 people that attended the seminar were representatives of the Ukrainian Premier League and the PFL, representatives of supporters’ groups, local businessmen, experts in marketing and communications and journalists.
