On International Women’s day, March 8th, the Swedish Alliance for Women in Sport (SAFWIS) hosted their first annual sports gala. Among speakers were the Minister of Sports, Gabriel Wikström and Brianna Newland, Assistant Professor at University of Delaware.
At the event, held in Stockholm, 50 role models was presented and Sofia Bohlin, board member of SD Europe and chairperson of SFSU, was one of them.
“- It’s a great honour and I am proud that women’s involvement in sports is recognised. It also makes me very happy that the supporter movement is included since we are an important stakeholder, says Sofia.”
According to organisers, “Sofia Bohlin runs one of Sweden’s most diverse and powerful movements, SFSU (Swedish Football Supporters Union) with a firm hand. She is the voice of the supporters, takes her seat at football’s top table where she’s not afraid to address matters on equality.”
Congratulations Sofia, keep up the great work!
