The 2014/15 summer meeting of the prevention and security stakeholders was attended by some 50 representatives of third division clubs. For the first time, violence prevention featured in a workshop with three scenarios, in which security officers worked with SLOs to come up with practical solutions to matchday problems. The participants came to the conclusion that careful preparation in the run-up and joint action on the day of the game are two key factors for an interesting and calm matchday experience.
Hendrik Grosse-Lefert, security officer of the German Football Association (DFB) said: “We have bundled existing knowledge on violence prevention and the next step is to implement the joint recommendations in the league next season“.
