The Royal Belgian Football Association (KBVB) and the Pro League recently held a constructive strategy meeting on the development of the SLO project with SD Europe and UEFA SLO project coordinator Stuart Dykes. The two governing bodies are working together to roll out the SLO project this season, with the Pro League assuming responsibility for managing the training of SLOs and the dissemination of all relevant documents and toolkits.
A day later, the KBVB welcomed Noel Mooney (UEFA Marketing Manager), Stuart Dykes, national team fan clubs and national associations from eight countries (Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, and Sweden) to Brussels to discuss a range of fan engagement issues. Stuart Dykes gave a presentation on the SLO work at club and national team level, with further information being provided by the representatives of the German national team supporters club. This stimulated further discussion among the participants, with a number of them now considering whether a national team SLO would improve the experience of home and visiting supporters and their relationship with the football authorities.
