On February 20th 2014, SLOs from nine Portuguese clubs came together before the FC Porto v Eintracht Frankfurt Europa League game in February to hear Eintracht SLO Marc Francis talk about his work and that of his five-strong SLO team. The SLOs in attendance also discussed common problems and explored potential solutions, taking advantage of Marc’s extensive experience in the role. After the meeting Marc said: “It was a great experience and a pleasure to meet the guys and exchange information about our work. I hope to see you all again in Frankfurt some day“, a sentiment echoed by Jorge Silvério, SLO coordinator at the Portuguese Football Federation, who organised the meeting: “Many thanks Marc for your kindness in sharing all your experience with our SLOs. It was a fantastic moment for us and for Portuguese football“!
