SD Europe is delighted to confirm that our project application LIAISE was recently selected for funding by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
LIAISE stands for Project for a Liaison-based Integrated Approach to Improving Supporter Engagement and will run from January 2018 until December 2019, with support and funding from UEFA.
The primary objective of LIAISE is to encourage the football authorities and partner agencies to recognise the value of enhanced dialogue and communication between club supporter liaison officers (SLOs) and the football and public authorities through better understanding, awareness and implementation of established SLO good practices.
Six national associations, two national supporter organisations and our friends at Football Supporters Europe (FSE) will be involved in a series of training workshops and exchange visits, with outputs to include improved and updated resources available to anyone with an interest in developing the supporter liaison officer role in their own environment.
LIAISE will be the third EU-funded project run by SD Europe since 2012. Our current Erasmus+ project is entitled ‘Clubs and Supporters for Better Governance in Football‘ and will run until this coming December (2017). The ‘Improving Football Governance through Supporter Involvement and Community Ownership‘ project was a preparatory action in the field of sport and was co-ordinated between March 2012 and June 2013.
