First TRANSFER Meeting Takes Place In Frankfurt!

The first partner meeting of SD Europe’s TRANSFER project took part on Thursday and Friday in Frankfurt, Germany. Due to Covid regulations the meeting was a hybrid, with some partners traveling to Germany and some staying at home in front of their computers.

On the Thursday, Thomas Schneider from DFL, the German Football League, held a lecture on the history of the SLO role in Germany. The SLO Department within SD Europe then introduced the TRANSFER project, and the awaiting challenges. In the evening the DFL treated us to the Europa League game between Eintracht Frankfurt and Royal Antwerpen.

On the Friday, the project’s academic expert, Aage Radmann of Malmö University, went through his findings of the project survey, which all partner countries - Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Scotland, Serbia - had filled in prior to the meeting. With that, a really interesting discussion emerged. The meeting concluded with talks about a possible joint academic article or conference.

We thank the DFL for the warm welcome and the use of their headquarter for this initial meeting. The next step for the TRANSFER project is selecting the different clubs that will go on the exchange visits. More information on that will follow.
